My mother, Olga B. Kobelnyk taught me the importance of caring for and being committed to any life that was entrusted or gifted to you.  She knew and taught by example that loving someone, human or non-human,  meant connecting with them on an emotional and spiritual level.  Unwanted pets, crippled ducks, addled geese all ended up in her care for the rest of their lives.  Her love was always unconditional. Her pups always had the best of care, even when she herself was sometimes in pain.  They knew they were safe and at home with her for the rest of their lives.

It is in this spirit and in her memory that this pet sanctuary is established.  It is for all the “throw away”, feeble, misunderstood little souls who also deserve safety and love in this world.

This is what she would have liked.
